Therapeutic Approach
Speech Eat Learn believes incorporating a team-based approach leads to the best progress and carryover of skills. A team-based approach means the patient, the family, and other therapists and medical professionals are involved and will work together to help the patient. Therapy is always individualized to the patient’s strengths, difficulties, sensory needs, interests, and motor skills. A neurodiversity-affirming approach is used with the patients and their families. We focus on functionality and making sure the patient is comfortable, confident, and happy when they are learning. We utilize the patient's strengths and help them with their struggles. The main goal is to improve the patient’s communication and feeding skills in a healthy, fun, and evidence-based way.
